Guideline on Rounding Payment Amounts in Cash Payment Transactions

Based on Article 2, paragraph 3, item c, Article 7, item b), and Article 70 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of BiH", nos. 1/97, 29/02, 13/03, 14/03, 9/05, 76/06 and 32/07), the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 10th meeting held on November 28, 2007, adopts

GUIDELINES

on rounding payment amounts in cash payment transactions

1. In order to assist and maintain cash payment transactions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, these guidelines regulate the method of rounding payment amounts in cash payment transactions, as follows:

• amounts of 1 and 2 fenings – to 0 fenings
• amounts of 3 and 4 fenings – to 5 fenings
• amounts of 6 and 7 fenings – to 5 fenings
• amounts of 8 and 9 fenings – to 10 fenings.

2. These guidelines regulate rounding from point 1, until the conditions for issuing a convertible mark with a denomination of 1 fenings are met.

3. These guidelines enter into force on the day of publication in the "Official Gazette of BiH", and will be applied from January 1, 2008, and will also be published in the "Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH", "Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska" and "Official Gazette of the Brčko District of BiH".
