Guidelines On Disclosure Requirements Applicable to Credit Ratings
ESMA establishes disclosure requirements for EU credit rating agencies regarding the publication of credit ratings, rating outlooks, methodologies, and models. The guidelines mandate that press releases or reports accompanying these disclosures include specific elements such as endorsement status, solicitation details, analyst information, methodology links, and scenario analysis. For ratings influenced by ESG factors, agencies must explicitly identify these drivers, explain their materiality, and provide links to relevant guidance. These guidelines apply to credit rating agencies registered with ESMA under Regulation (EC) No 1060/2009.
