Guidelines on the Cancellation Period for Unlisted Debentures

Offerors of unlisted debentures (excluding those with tenures of three months or shorter, SFA-exempt issues, or non-individual investors) must grant investors a right to cancel within 7 calendar days of signing. Offerors must provide clear written notice of this right before the agreement is concluded, detailing the cancellation period, steps to exercise it, refund adjustments for market value changes, and a cancellation form. Reasonable means for cancellation, such as ordinary post, must be specified, and valid requests must be served on the offeror or an authorized agent. Offerors may adjust refunds for market value changes or reasonable, disclosed expenses but cannot charge sales charges, impose penalties, or pay excess market value.
