Holidays of the Year 2016 for Scheduled Banks in Bangladesh
Scheduled banks in Bangladesh, including Bangladesh Bank, must observe 23 public holidays during 2016 as specified in the circular. The holidays include Shaheed Day on 21 February, Independence Day on 26 March, Eid-ul-Fitr from 5 to 7 July, and Eid-ul-Adha from 11 to 13 September, among others. Observance of certain dates, including Buddha Purnima, Shab-e-Barat, Shab-e-Qadar, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Adha, Ashura, and Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi, is subject to the appearance of the moon. The schedule is based on Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.005.12-260 issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on 22 November 2015.
