Holidays of the year 2018
The scheduled banks in Bangladesh, including Bangladesh Bank, are required to observe 24 public holidays during 2018. The specified dates include Shaheed Day on 21 February, Independence Day on 26 March, Eid-ul-Fitr from 15 to 17 June, and Eid-ul-Adha from 21 to 23 August. Several holidays, including Buddha Purnima, Shab-e-Barat, Shab-e-Qadar, Ashura, and Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi, are subject to the appearance of the moon.
