The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago mandates that all insurance intermediaries operate under the Insurance Act, 2018, effective January 1, 2021. Individual agents and brokers must incorporate within one year of the Act's commencement, while existing corporate registrations remain valid until their former certificates expire. Insurers are prohibited from transacting with unregistered intermediaries and must separate any dual insurer-agency status within five years.
