Implementation of Section 51A of UAPA, 1967: Updates to UNSC’s 1988 (2011) Taliban Sanctions List: Amendment of 05 Entries
The Reserve Bank of India directs regulated entities to update their records to reflect amendments to five entries on the United Nations Security Council’s Taliban Sanctions List, as notified by the Ministry of External Affairs on July 30, 2026. The amendments affect individuals Hamdullah Nomani, Abdul-Haq Wasiq, Noor Mohammad Saqib, Sirajuddin Haqqani, and Gul Agha Ishakzai, requiring entities to ensure no accounts are held in their names under Section 51A of the UAPA, 1967. Regulated entities must strictly follow the procedure laid down in the UAPA Order dated February 02, 2021, and forward any delisting requests to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
