Implementation of the new reportings defined by the EBA - Clarification on the use of counterparty identification codes
Institutions governed by Belgian law must apply a cascade system for counterparty identification codes in the European reporting framework starting with the reporting for the situation as at 30 June 2021. This system requires providing a LEI code where available, using the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE) number for Belgian counterparties without a LEI, and resorting to the existing Gggg(g)(g) internal code only if neither is available. This communication amends existing national guidelines to align with clarifications in the new version of the EBA ITS on Supervisory Reporting.
