Instruction 5-2021 (9-4-2021)

The Central Bank of Myanmar issued Instruction 5-2021 on April 9, 2021, to standardize foreign exchange trading rates across the financial sector. The directive establishes a 0.8% trading band and a 1.6% spread for Authorized Dealers, while permitting Money Changers to operate within the central bank's prescribed limits. Financial institutions must now align their buying and selling rates accordingly to ensure consistent foreign currency pricing in domestic markets.
