Rule · BNA · 18 Jun 2018
The Governor of the National Bank of Angola issued Instruction No. 08/2018 to temporarily suspend the requirement for licensing import operations awaiting settlement with customs clearance dates after January 1, 2015. This measure addresses the accumulation of unpaid foreign supplier obligations caused by limited foreign currency availability, aligning with a scheduled regularization plan for these delays. The suspension remains in effect for three months from publication, with non-compliance subject to penalties under Angolan exchange and financial institution laws.
INSTRUCTION NO. 08/2018 of June 19
SUBJECT: EXCHANGE POLICY

Given that the National Bank of Angola (BNA) has established a schedule for the regularization of the aforementioned delays.
In the exercise of the competence conferred upon me under the combined provisions of paragraph 2 of Article 28 of Law No. 5/97 of June 27 - Exchange Law, and Articles 40 and 51, both of Law No. 16/10 of July 15 - Law of the National Bank of Angola.
