Instructions for Accounting for Forgiven Interest and Legal Costs, and Sanitation Reserves for Refinanced Loans under the Rehabilitation Program for Productive Sectors Directly Affected by the Conflict (D.L.292)

Banks, financial institutions, and FOSAFFI must account for forgiven interest differences in specific asset accounts until state compensation or credit sanitation reserves. Legal costs must be settled against sanitation reserves or expensed. For reclassified cases, original reserves remain while excesses credit specific reimbursement accounts. Administrators must reverse off-balance sheet entries for approved refinanced credits and record new values. All accounting applications require a single journal entry per debtor to avoid partial or global accounting.
