The Central Bank of Jordan mandates that licensed exchange companies obtain prior approval to secure loans from shareholders or credit from licensed banks, subject to conditions including a minimum two-year operational history and a one-year cooling-off period since the last facility. Loans from shareholders are capped at 50% of paid-up capital with a maximum two-year term (extendable to three years), while supporting loans are interest-free, capped at 100% of paid-up capital, and require a minimum five-year maturity. The regulations prohibit exchange companies from granting credit or guarantees to third parties and require detailed financial disclosures and semi-annual reporting of loan balances.
