Law No. 26771 prohibits public officials and employees with hiring authority from appointing, contracting, or influencing the hiring of relatives up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity, including spouses, partners, and parents of their children. Internal Control Bodies are tasked with enforcing this prohibition, and violations are subject to sanctions under relevant regulations, with contravening acts declared null and existing contracts involving such kinship prohibited from renewal. The Executive Branch is required to issue implementing regulations within 60 days of the law's entry into force.
