Bangladesh Bank establishes a list of Chartered Accountant firms eligible to audit banks and non-bank financial institutions, requiring these entities to appoint auditors from this list based on competency and competitiveness. The circular mandates that the profit and loss accounts and financial reports of banking and finance companies be audited by persons qualified under the Bangladesh Chartered Accountants Order, 1973, or other applicable laws, and approved by the central bank. Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers are instructed to present this circular at their next board meeting for the information of board members. The document includes Annexure-A, which enumerates 31 specific audit firms and assigns a maximum limit of six statutory audits per financial year to each firm.
