MAS Notice FSM-N22 imposes cyber hygiene requirements on capital markets financial institutions, including approved exchanges, licensed trade repositories, and holders of capital markets services licences. The Notice mandates that these entities secure administrative accounts, apply security patches commensurate with risk, maintain written security standards, implement network perimeter controls, and deploy malware protection where available. Additionally, multi-factor authentication is required for all administrative accounts on critical systems and for any internet-accessed accounts handling customer information. The Notice took effect on 10 May 2024 and was amended with effect from 20 August 2024.
