This measure amends the risk management framework for banks by mandating the inclusion of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks in risk identification, measurement, and strategy, requiring a ten-year horizon and regular resilience testing. It introduces specific operational risk management procedures for direct and indirect exposures to crypto-assets and crypto-asset service providers, including pre-assessment of such exposures. The regulation also updates definitions and adds references to relevant EU directives, with the measure entering into force on 1 May 2026.
