Monitoring compliance with the rules and regulations on recirculation of euro banknotes and coins – enforcement policy
The policy establishes the principles and factors governing the use of enforcement instruments, such as administrative fines and orders subject to penalty, for non-compliance with euro banknote and coin recirculation standards. It applies to economic agents recirculating euro banknotes via ATMs, including head offices of supermarket chains, individual retailers, and parties independently filling ATMs, as well as cash-in-transit companies and coin processors recirculating euro coins. These entities have been formally informed of the enforcement policy regarding their obligations under Regulation (EC) 1338/2001.
