Notice No. 3/GGBM/2006: Issues Notes and Metallic Coins of the New Family Metical
The Bank of Mozambique issues notes and coins of the New Family Metical with specified face values, dimensions, colors, and security features. The notice mandates a simultaneous circulation period from July 1, 2006, to December 31, 2006, followed by an exchange window from January 1, 2007, to December 31, 2012, during which old currency loses its liberatory power. Old notes and coins must be exchanged at banking establishments until the end of 2007 and subsequently at the Bank of Mozambique until the end of 2012.
