Official Letter Modifying the Authorization Granted to Sompo Seguros Mexico, S.A. de C.V.
The National Insurance and Surety Commission modifies the authorization granted to Sompo Seguros Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (formerly Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance de Mexico, S.A. de C.V.) to reflect a change in its corporate name. The resolution updates the authorization's preamble and specific articles to replace the former name with Sompo Seguros Mexico, S.A. de C.V., and modifies the capital base to require the minimum paid-up capital determined annually for each authorized operation or line of business, expressed in Investment Units. The institution remains authorized as a subsidiary of Sompo Japan Insurance Company of America to conduct damage insurance operations in Mexico, including civil liability, fire, and automobile risks. The resolutions must be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation and two widely circulated newspapers within 120 days of notification.
