The Central Bank of Uzbekistan amends the Rules for Conducting Currency Operations to permit non-resident legal entities participating in crypto-exchanges to receive foreign currency funds into their offshore accounts from their existing offshore accounts or from the sale of crypto-assets on crypto-exchanges. These funds may only be transferred back to the crypto-exchange or to the non-resident's own offshore accounts in the country of origin, and cannot be used for any other purposes. Commercial banks are required to ensure that transactions conducted through these accounts comply with legislation on combating the legalization of proceeds from crime, the financing of terrorism, and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
