Oversight Regulations for Self-Regulatory Bodies of Accountants, 2020

Every Self-Regulatory Body (SRB) must adopt a risk-based approach to supervising its reporting entities, introduce regulations on customer due diligence, record-keeping and countermeasures, apply market entry controls, appoint a compliance monitor, and immediately report Suspicious Transaction Reports to the FMU. SRBs must report annually to the oversight body on compliance, membership applications rejected, services, risk ratings and sanctions imposed. Non-compliant SRBs face sanctions under the AML/CFT Sanctions Rules, 2020, imposed by the Oversight Body.
