The Financial Conduct Authority publishes near-final rules implementing the Insurance Distribution Directive for life insurance business, including conduct of business requirements, information disclosure, and professional requirements. These rules apply to insurance and reinsurance companies, intermediaries, and other firms distributing insurance-based investment products and non-investment insurance. Firms must ensure compliance with the new requirements by 23 February 2018, with final rules for inducements, conflicts of interest, and product governance deferred to a subsequent policy statement.
