The Financial Conduct Authority implements final rules increasing the Financial Ombudsman Service’s award limit to £350,000 for complaints about acts or omissions on or after 1 April 2019, and to £160,000 for complaints about earlier acts or omissions referred after that date. From 1 April 2020, both limits will be automatically adjusted annually on 1 April in line with the Consumer Prices Index. Complaints referred before 1 April 2019 remain subject to the previous £150,000 limit.
