PS20/3: Signposting to travel insurance for consumers with medical conditions

Firms offering retail travel insurance must signpost consumers with pre-existing medical conditions to a specialist directory when cover is declined, excluded, or when a pre-existing medical condition loading of £100 or more is applied. The implementation deadline for these new rules and guidance is 5 November 2020, with directory details required on firm websites within 30 days of the directory going live. Insurance intermediaries must only signpost if all providers decline, exclude, or exceed the £100 threshold, and firms listed on the directory are exempt from signposting consumers who have already used it.
