PSD Circular No. 1: National Payment System Council (NPSC)
The National Payment System Council (NPSC) is reorganized with Mr. Ziaul Hasan Siddiqui serving as Chairman and fifteen other members appointed from various government ministries, regulatory bodies, and scheduled banks. The Council's main tasks include reviewing strategic documents for the national payment system, promoting common initiatives for payment infrastructure, endorsing project schedules, and fostering cooperation among institutions active in payment, clearing, and settlement systems. The Payment Systems Division (PSD) is designated to provide secretarial and research services to the Council.
