PUBLIC NOTICE
The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (the Central Bank) warns the public that the following persons are not registered by the Central Bank under the Insurance Act Chap. 84:01 (Insurance Act) to conduct insurance business or business as an insurance agency or brokerage in, or from within, Trinidad and Tobago: - By Order dated April 13, 2021, pursuant to the Insurance Act, the High Court granted an injunction against MEDISERV restraining it and/or its servants and/or its agents from carrying on insurance business without being registered by the Central Bank (https://webopac.ttlawcourts.org/LibraryJud/Judgments/HC/Harris/2017/cv_17_00528DD13apr2021.pdf). As such, members of the public who transact insurance business with MEDISERV and/or the listed affiliates and/or associated bodies/persons/programmes do so at their own risk. Any member of the public who has transacted with, received any proposal for insurance business from, entered into any insurance contract with, or has information/complaints on MEDISERV and the aforementioned affiliates and/or associated bodies/persons/programmes is urged to contact the Central Bank at marketconductsupervision@central-bank.org.tt immediately. The public is reminded that the listing of insurance companies, insurance agents/agencies and brokers/brokerages registered by the Central Bank are available on our website at https://www.central-bank.org.tt/core-functions/financial-stability/insurance-sector/.
