Reducing the reserve ratio from 14% to 12%
The Central Bank of Egypt reduces the reserve ratio that banks must hold from 14% to 12%. This decision applies to the average balances constituting the reserve base starting from the period beginning on April 17, 2012. All other existing decisions regarding the reserve ratio remain in force.
