Reserve Bank of India (Standalone Primary Dealers) Second Amendment Directions, 2026

The Reserve Bank of India amends the Reserve Bank of India (Standalone Primary Dealers) Directions, 2025, by substituting Paragraph 92 and deleting Paragraph 93 to update the methodology for computing Net Open Position and calculating capital charges for foreign exchange risk. Standalone Primary Dealers must compute capital charges on a continuous basis at the close of each business day using a shorthand method that treats all currencies equally, with a capital requirement set at 15 percent of the overall Net Open Position. These Amendment Directions come into effect from April 1, 2027.
