Reserve Bank of India (Urban Co-operative Banks – Interest Rate on Deposits) Second Amendment Directions, 2026
These Amendment Directions modify the Reserve Bank of India (Urban Co-operative Banks – Interest Rate on Deposits) Directions, 2025, effective from October 01, 2026. Paragraph 6(3) is substituted to require that interest rates on deposits, including bulk deposits, be strictly as per the schedule disclosed on the bank’s website, with bulk deposit rates disclosed by 10:10 am each business day. Paragraph 6(2) is substituted to mandate that interest rates offered on deposits be uniform across all branches and customers, prohibiting discrimination between deposits of similar amounts accepted on the same date.
