Resolution 120/2001

The Central Bank of Bolivia modifies Articles 4, 5, 6, and 16 of the Legal Reserve Regulation to incentivize the use of the national currency. The amendments introduce a minimum 30-day maturity threshold for Time Deposits (DPF) to qualify for reserve requirements and exemptions, adjusting reserve ratios for national and foreign currencies across various maturity bands. Financial institutions are required to register these deposits and report early redemptions, with sanctions applied for premature withdrawals. These changes enter into force on January 7, 2002, and reaffirm the elimination of the 100% reserve requirement for the Public Official Checking Account.
