Resolution 180/97 approves the Legal Reserve Regulation for Financial System Institutions, repealing previous resolutions and modifying Article 2 of Resolution 069/94 to limit cash custody to 5% of the legal reserve. The regulation establishes reserve requirements for demand, savings, and time deposits, mandating that 5% to 10% of reserves be held in cash and the remainder in authorized securities managed by the RAL Funds. It sets a phased implementation schedule for reserve ratios starting March 23, 1998, and defines the operational rules for the Liquid Asset Requirement Fund (RAL), including eligible securities and custodian qualifications.
