RESOLUTION No. 001020
THE CENTRAL BANK OF BRAZIL, in accordance with Article 9 of Law No. 4,595 of December 31, 1964, makes public that the MONETARY COUNCIL, in a session held on this date, having regard to the provisions of Article 4, item VI, of the aforementioned Law, and Articles 17, Paragraph 1, and 22 of Decree-Law No. 70 of November 21, 1966,
HAS DECIDED:
I - To authorize commercial banks and investment banks to acquire, endorse, and receive mortgage certificates as collateral, resulting from mortgages linked to credit operations of the Housing Finance System.
II - The Central Bank of Brazil and the National Housing Bank, within the scope of their respective competencies, are authorized to issue complementary regulations to the provisions of this Resolution.
III - This Resolution shall enter into force on the date of its publication, Circular No. 856 of April 17, 1984, being revoked.
