Resolution CMN No. 1502 authorizes commercial banks to accept bills of exchange issued in connection with credit operations secured by warrants, subject to a minimum maturity of 60 days and a maximum of 180 days. The resolution restricts these operations to agricultural product storage, requires warrants to be held by the accepting bank, and limits credit value to 80% of the warrant's value. It imposes specific limits on the total operations per client (5% of the bank's net worth) and total own acceptances (not exceeding net worth), while granting the Central Bank of Brazil authority to establish liquidity assistance lines and define operational parameters.
