Resolution CMN No. 2237 — Limits Anticipation of Budgetary Revenue (ARO) Operations to Specified Balances

Financial institutions must limit Anticipation of Budgetary Revenue (ARO) credit balances to November 30, 1995, base amounts plus post-1995 operations filed by December 5, 1995, adjusted monthly by the Reference Rate (TR). They must deposit the value of any excess with the Central Bank of Brazil by the fifth business day of the second month following the irregularity. New ARO operations are prohibited for states benefiting from Resolution No. 2,236 refinancing until settled, unless proceeds liquidate existing AROs, in which case limits may exceed by 25% provided principal and interest are paid monthly at no less than 1/30 of the outstanding balance. This Resolution enters into force upon publication and revokes Resolutions No. 2,218 and No. 2,221.
