Rule · BCB · 24 Feb 2000 · Resolução CMN 2693
Local reinsurers must apply resources securing technical provisions of premiums and claims in specific asset classes with strict limits: up to 100% in National Treasury or Central Bank securities, 80% (premiums) or 60% (claims) in fixed income, 50% or 40% in variable income, and 10% in real estate. Derivatives are permitted only for hedging with guarantee. Prohibitions include investing in affiliated entities, acting as financial institutions, or providing suretyships. Diversification caps limit single-entity exposure to 10% (20% for financial institutions) and single-company shares to 15%. Non-compliance subjects local reinsurers and administrators to sanctions under existing legislation.
