Resolution CMN No. 3499 allows financial institutions, at their discretion, to reclassify renegotiated or extended rural credit operations to a lower-risk category, provided the borrower remains engaged in regular agricultural production. This reclassification applies to operations backed by National Monetary Council decisions and excludes the application of Article 8 of Resolution No. 2,682 of 1999, while maintaining the delegation in Article 13 of that resolution. The rule also extends to rural credit operations using resources from the Constitutional Fund for Financing the Center-West (FCO) and the Worker Protection Fund (FAT), provided they are covered by specific authorizations and carried out at the risk of financial agents. The resolution entered into force on the date of its publication.
