The Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic amends asset classification and reserve formation rules for microfinance organizations and credit unions, specifically standardizing the holding period for classifying other property as losses to two years for real estate and one year for movable property. The amendments also introduce a credit risk indicator for Islamic finance entities, flagging clients with unpaid debts at other financial institutions, while excluding overdrafts from salary projects and assets funded by specific state programs. These changes apply to microfinance organizations operating under Islamic banking principles, non-deposit-taking microfinance organizations, and credit unions, including those operating under Islamic finance principles.
