Resolution SBS No. 1299-2022: Amend the Regulation for the Negotiation and Accounting of Financial Derivative Products in Financial System Companies
The SBS amends the Regulation for the Negotiation and Accounting of Financial Derivative Products by replacing Article 8 to specify initial measurement at fair value and subsequent valuation using bid, ask, or mid-market prices based on position type and risk compensation criteria. A new Article 8-A is incorporated to establish accounting rules for hedging derivatives, requiring initial fair value measurement and subsequent changes to affect results or equity per Articles 16, 17, and 18. Financial system companies must implement these changes starting June 1, 2022, with an adaptation period extending until December 31, 2022.
