CMACs must not grant pawn loans exceeding 60% of the pledged asset's appraisal value, though the Superintendency may modify this limit at a CMAC's request. For pledge loans secured by jewelry or gold and silver objects, and consumer loans secured by gold bullion or cash deposits, repayment-capacity assessments apply above 80%, 70%, 80% and 100% thresholds respectively, and gold or silver valuations may not exceed the lower of the 30-day average troy-ounce value or last closing price. Companies with pre-existing such loans have until 31 December 2015, or 31 January 2015 for loans granted from entry into force, to comply.
