This Royal Decree implements Article 383 of the Law of 25 April 2014 and transposes specific articles of Directive 2014/49/EU into Belgian law. It defines the information obligations that credit institutions must fulfill for depositors concerning the Belgian deposit guarantee scheme, including standardized information sheets and precise definitions of terms such as 'deposits' and 'depositors'. The decree establishes transition periods for communication deadlines, reducing them from seven to four working days between 2016 and 2023, and designates the FSMA as the competent authority for supervision. It enters into force upon publication in the Belgian State Gazette and applies to pending deposit repayment requests.
