The regulations amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Venture Capital Investors) Regulations, 2000 by replacing USD-denominated fees in the Second Schedule with specified amounts in Indian Rupees (Rs. 2,30,000, Rs. 9,000, Rs. 500, and Rs. 15,000) and substituting the timing for fee submission from 'at the time of submission of the Form' to 'prior to the grant of certificate of registration'. Additionally, new Clause (6) mandates that designated depository participants remit collected fees to the Board in INR within five working days of either the grant of registration or the receipt of renewal/late fees, accompanied by details in a specified format. These regulations come into force on the one hundred eightieth day from their publication in the Official Gazette.
