Securities Commission of The Bahamas Notice on FATF Jurisdictions Under Increased Monitoring 13 February 2026

The Securities Commission of The Bahamas informs licensees and registrants that the Financial Action Task Force has updated its list of jurisdictions under increased monitoring, adding Kuwait and Papua New Guinea while noting deferred reporting for Haiti and Syria. Licensees and registrants are required to incorporate the money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing risks associated with these identified jurisdictions into their business relationship and transaction risk assessments. Although the FATF does not mandate enhanced due diligence measures for these jurisdictions, the Commission encourages regulated entities to apply a risk-based approach and ensure that humanitarian assistance, legitimate non-profit activities, and remittances are not disrupted.
