Securities Commission of The Bahamas Notice on FATF Public Statement Regarding Jurisdictions Under Increased Monitoring

Licensees and registrants of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas are informed that the Financial Action Task Force has added Bolivia and the Virgin Islands (UK) to its list of jurisdictions under increased monitoring, while removing Croatia, Mali, and Tanzania. The notice further states that reporting for Algeria, Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, Haiti, Kenya, Lebanon, Monaco, Syria, and Yemen has been deferred, meaning previous FATF statements for these jurisdictions remain in effect. Regulated entities are encouraged to consider the money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing risks associated with these identified jurisdictions in their risk assessments, although the FATF does not currently call for enhanced due diligence measures.
