Bangladeshi parties may voluntarily enter into counter-trade arrangements to settle import payments against proceeds from exported goods. Banks are authorized to open Escrow accounts in approved foreign currencies or Bangladeshi Taka, with intimation to Bangladesh Bank, to facilitate these settlements via local banking channels. Transactions must be reported using IMP Form procedures marked as 'Counter-trade' for imports and standard EXP formalities for exports, while excluding ACU mechanism transactions. All parties must ensure regulatory compliance, competitive pricing, and adherence to KYC and AML/CFT standards.
