The Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit, in coordination with the Financial Intelligence Unit, has blocked 13 casinos identified as high-risk entities due to operations involving large cash movements, international transfers, and unregulated digital platforms. These establishments, located in eight Mexican states and Mexico City, were found to facilitate money laundering through typologies consistent with international standards, including the use of individuals with mismatched economic profiles to legitimize illicit funds. The Financial Intelligence Unit will file complaints with the Attorney General's Office and the Federal Tax Administration to pursue charges for money laundering, criminal association, and fiscal offenses. This action reinforces international cooperation with US agencies and compliance with Financial Action Task Force recommendations to prevent organized crime infiltration in vulnerable sectors.
