The Swiss National Bank (SNB) is lowering the threshold factor for the remuneration of sight deposits of account holders subject to minimum reserve requirements from 15 to 13.5, effective August 1, 2026. This adjustment counteracts the increase in thresholds due to a previous raising of the minimum reserve requirement, ensuring effective monetary policy implementation and supporting an active money market. Sight deposits up to the new threshold will be remunerated at the SNB policy rate, while those above will receive the policy rate minus a discount, with no remuneration for deposits held to meet minimum reserve requirements.
