Special Rupee Vostro Accounts (SRVAs)

The Reserve Bank of India consolidates and rationalizes instructions from five prior circulars into a single document, superseding them with immediate effect. Authorised Dealer Category-I banks are permitted to open Special Rupee Vostro Accounts for branches or resident banks outside India to settle cross-border trade and other permissible current and capital account transactions in Indian Rupees. The circular specifies funding sources, investment guidelines for debt instruments, and documentation requirements, while introducing a new provision for publishing SRVA details in a directory published by FEDAI.
