State Program on Implementing the Strategy for Five Priority Areas of Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021 in the Year of Science, Education and Digital Economy Development
The President of Uzbekistan approved a state program detailing implementation measures for the 2017-2021 development strategy during the Year of Science, Education and Digital Economy Development. The program mandates the establishment of an 'Electronic Parliament' system, reforms to the court and prosecution systems including decriminalization of certain economic crimes, and the abolition of mandatory cotton sales and grain quotas. It further requires the creation of an Export-Credit Agency, the expansion of digital infrastructure, and the establishment of vocational training centers and small industrial zones with specific funding allocations.
