The Reserve Bank of India decides to resume licensing of Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) on an 'on tap' basis following a two-decade pause, with draft guidelines to be issued for stakeholder consultation. Draft Amendment Directions are being issued to review Concentration Risk Management guidelines for Rural Co-operative Banks, replacing the 2008 Credit Monitoring Arrangement instructions. Additionally, draft directions will be released for public comments regarding the rationalization of the regulatory framework on interest rates for all Regulated Entities, aiming to harmonize guidelines and standardize market practices.
