Strengthening and updating the Risk Management System in banks

Bangladesh Bank requires all scheduled banks to establish a separate risk management division with a Board-approved organogram, appoint a Chief Risk Officer at the AMD/DMD level, and form a management-level risk management committee. Banks must determine annual risk appetites for measurable risk areas, submit stress test results, and file Comprehensive Risk Management Reports and meeting minutes by specified deadlines. Non-compliance with these risk management activities may result in punitive actions under the Bank Company Act 1991.
